In terms of work in the match this was largely a simple house show match with a few token signature moves and no nearfalls or anything like that. What elevated the match was the character work both comedy from the champions side and more serious as Nomura and Lee compete to fight Kento as they both want the next world title shot.
The Kento and SUWAMA interactions and infighting that was a theme from the pre match all the way through to the postmatch also hints at a future rivalry there. Both Nomura and Lee made to challenge post match but nothing was set, I assume they will wrestle shortly in a singles match and the winner faces Kento in Yokohama in Late February. ***
